Just 3 days until Master S and I head to Walt Disney World! While our first day is a Magic Kingdom day, the two other days will be focused on Epcot and the Flower & Garden Festival. This festival features topiaries, garden display, concerts, play areas, and outdoor kitchens.
The 18 outdoor kitchens are the places that Master S, being my foodie, is most interested in exploring. All of these outdoor kitchens have items on the menu that you can use a snack credit for, so, to work towards his goal of sampling at least one thing from each of the 18 booths; we are going to utilize some of the features of the Disney Dining Plan (if you want more basic info on it, check out our blog here).
We will start out our trip with 8 snack credits which is no where near enough! However, you can convert quick service credits to snack credits (1 quick service credit converts to 3 snack credits), and if you do it at the front desk of your resort you can use them individually, at any time. You can also convert them at the point of sale, but then you must use all 3 snack credits at once. So, its better just to spend the 5 minutes at check in if you are planning ahead.
We will need one quick service meal for the night we check in so we will only convert 3 of the 4 quick serve credits. By converting 3 of our 4 quick serve credits to snack credits, we gain an additional 12 credits bringing the total to 20 snack credits!!!
It gets even better when you realize that both of us have the same number of credits available, so by doing this for both of us we have a pool of 40 snack credits available for the trip. Which allows us to sample more than one thing at each booth or even repeat a favorite and still enjoy snacks on our Magic Kingdom day... gotta have that Dole Whip!
During our time at the Flower & Garden we expect to do more than just eat! We plan on exploring the World Showcase and finding all of the wonderful topiaries and special events around Epcot using the Flower & Garden Passport as our guide.
