Five BEST Boat Rides at Walt Disney World!

Writer: Melissa GermainMelissa Germain

There are currently seven boat rides in the Walt Disney World parks. If your kids love boats like mine do and you enjoy sitting down in air conditioned comfort; you’ll enjoy this ranking of the 5 best boat rides in Walt Disney World.

1. Pirates of the Caribbean – A 9 minute boat ride through the 17th century when Pirates plundered seaport towns. Your boat will travel through the Pirate’s Grotto which is home to the Dead Man’s Cove, The Fort where you will be in the middle of a battle between the Caribbean Fort and Captain Barbossa, the Town Square where pirates have a lively auction, the Burning City where the buccaneers sing as the city goes down in the flames, the Dungeon where pirates try to convince the dog to give over the keys to set them free and finally Jack Sparrow celebrating in the treasure room. This attraction was so popular and well loved that it spawned the Pirates of the Caribbean film series.

2. Living with the Land – Located in Epcot, this slow boat ride takes you through the greenhouses of The Land Pavilion where they grow food for the Epcot restaurants. This is a very educational ride and includes a number of Hidden Mickeys.

3. Gran Fiesta Tour Starring The Three Caballeros – Located inside the pyramid in the Mexico Pavilion, this ride features the characters from Disney’s 1944 The Three Caballeros. You board a boat that navigates between the Mayan pyramid and the San Angel Inn restaurant and on into the Three Caballeros story. The 3 of them were scheduled to perform at a fiesta, but of course Donald has gone missing. Throughout the ride, Panchito and Jose try to locate Donald so that they can perform together in Mexico city at end of the ride.

4. Jungle Cruise – This boat ride will take you on an exotic cruise through the Amazon in South America, The African Congo, The Nile River and The Mekong River. Along the way, you’ll spot hippos, elephants, snakes and other creatures as you cruise by their natural habitats. So sit back and enjoy the skippers tales as you make this 10 minute journey around the world.

3. Frozen Ever After– the most recent addition to the Disney World boat lineup and located in Epcot's Norway Pavilion; this ride takes you on a magical adventure through Arendelle up to the Elsa's Ice Castle and ends with a surprise! I suggest you Fast Pass this ride for first thing in the morning and then pop over to see Anna & Elsa in the Royal Summerhaus!
